I recently had the opportunity to take the Green Shield Training from Global Cannabis Solutions (GCS), and it was an incredibly smooth and informative experience.

For those who haven’t heard of it, the Green Shield Training is a cannabis safety course designed to ensure that anyone working in or around the industry has up-to-date knowledge on best practices. The best part? It's free! Yes, no hidden fees or catch—just a genuinely useful course that anyone can take.

The training took me less than an hour overall, and what’s great is that it’s designed so you can drop in and out as your schedule allows. I was able to fit it in around my day, picking up where I left off without any fuss. The course is concise but full of practical information, covering crucial areas, compliance with UK laws, and health and safety standards.

As someone who works within the cannabis sector daily, I still found valuable nuggets of information that even I didn’t know! It’s clear that GCS has thought of everything, ensuring the course is both accessible and comprehensive.

I believe this kind of training should be a staple for anyone involved in the cannabis industry. It helps ensure that we're all on the same page regarding safety, from handling and distribution to consumption. The UK market is rapidly evolving, and Green Shield is a fantastic way to stay informed and compliant with the latest regulations. It’s a no-brainer, really—especially given that it’s completely free.

On top of the essential safety and legal compliance elements, the course also delves into the importance of customer and community safety. It’s designed to give you a solid foundation of knowledge, whether you’re a retailer, manufacturer, or simply curious about the cannabis landscape in the UK. I particularly appreciated how they broke down complex legal requirements into digestible pieces, making it easy to follow even if you’re new to the field.

This training will undoubtedly become a vital tool for the entire industry, promoting a safer and more informed market. I will certainly be passing it on to others in the cannabis space—it’s too good to miss.

And here’s something to look forward to: There will be another training course for CTA members in the near future. We’ll be announcing it during a webinar in November, which we’ll be recording for anyone who can’t attend live. I’m excited for more of our members to take advantage of these resources and ensure that we continue to lead the industry with integrity and knowledge.

In the meantime, I encourage everyone to visit the Green Shield website and take the course. It’s informative, easy to navigate, and, did I mention, free?

A big thanks to GCS for putting this together—it’s exactly what we need to keep progressing in a safe and responsible way.
